Hi, I'm new here. I live in Cornwall (UK - I've heard there are Cornwalls elsewhere too!).

I've been into photography, to some degree, for almost forty years although, sadly, I don't seem to be getting any better at it :(

I probably take more pictures of our dogs than anything else but I'll take pictures of anything and everything.

My wife is from an 'arty' background and actually has a Degree in Photography but rarely indulges these days - having moved on to the Fine Art scene. I've had a couple of little exhibitions, purely for the fun of it and it's something I would encourage everyone to do. It's a buzz, albeit nerve-wracking, standing in the middle of a gallery surrounded by people who've come in just to look at your work (or get out of the rain, I supposeā€¦).

Equipment-wise, over the years, I've used Nikon, Olympus, Leica (M & R) and now I'm back on Nikon.

Being from an engineering background, I have a great interest in the hardware side of things but, fortunately, any signs of Gear Aquistition Syndrome have long since worn off - that's not to say it wouldn't rear it's ugly head if I won the lottery, mind you, I do quite fancy having a go at digital medium format!

Have a great 2017 :)

A belated welcome to the forums!

It sounds like you will fit in well with the other inmates... I hope you will participate in the mini-challenges, we all learn lots from each other as we share how we have achieved what we do.

Thanks. I'll definitely join in. So much to learn, so little time!
