Hello :) I currently have the D3300 and was thinking of upgrading. I was looking into the D90. What do you people recommenced. This is one of my proudest photos with this camera for skill reference.13241239_1709791332571642_66940853573785 ?

The D90 is not an upgrade from the D3300 as the sensor is so old. It is, at best, a sidegrade. It is much easier to use because of the ergonomics but there is no room for cropping and the high-ISO noise will probably be frustrating after learning on the D3300. If you want the ergonomics of the D90 but a modern sensor, the D7100 is a nice budget-friendly option.

The 3300 is a very capable model. The main advantage of the 7000 series is better auto focus with moving subjects, more accessible controls, and brighter viewfinder.

Image quality... not so much.

Before considering an upgrade, you should really ask yourself what are the shortcomings of the 3300 you are experiencing. It is possible new glass might be a better upgrade than a new body.

How are we supposed to Nikon16's money if you're going to be so reasonable, Scott?

A 7000 series is a huge upgrade in interface and AF, as Merco said.  The D3300 produces great images, as you've shown us, but the control offered by the higher models is something to be appreciated.

I have actually started looking at the D7100 and it looks like a nice upgrade and a reasonable price. Thank you for the suggestions.
