why won't this forum let me paste text from word? I've already typed out my detailed question but this tool forces me to type it out again manually? No paste allowed?

What browser do you use? I have noticed that IE handles some scripts badly with standard settings so copy-paste doesn't work. Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera all handle bulletin boards better. If you send Adam (the site owner/admin) a PM with specifics about OS, browser and maybe ActiveX settings he might have an answer for you.

When you paste text from Word you end up with copying more then the "visible" part of your text (i.e. the characters), which can harm the presentation of the whole page.

Instead use NOTEPAD (you'll find it in the Accessories) which is a text-only editor.
Notepad will also allow you to paste text from Word (and remove the hidden codes), before selecting and copying it from Notepad and then pasting in IE; thereby acting as a cleaner for this hidden code.

If by the end the PASTE function is not available in the menu, try the keyboard shortcut for Paste, i.e. CTRL and V keys together (on Windows)
