New lens, sticky ring?

Hi, Just received new 50mm 1.4 lens

 

When unboxing, I see on the front glass that there is a thin, papery sticky ring around the edge of the  glass, where it meets the plastic.  It has delaminated and peeled off. 

 

Is this normal??

Doesn't sound normal to me. My Nikon 50mm f/1.4 didn't have anything on the glass at all. Certainly nothing that would peal off.
