So specifically when I shot a time-lapse with my d810 I had a cargo ship in the shot I would like to remove the cargo ship name. Normally a single shop would be a easy fix in Loghtroom. Can a time-lapse file from the camera be fixed.

The timelapse camera output is a .mov videofile.

There are different - including free - video editors available, but I have no experience with any. Maybe somebody can help here to give a recommendation ..

What I see as a problem for the issue that you describe is that while some videoeditors will allow to add text with background (translate for your purpose: space with grey background) or graphics to overlay part of the picture, you have a moving object where you want to cover some part. Probably that you will have to do different edits, as te ship progresses.

Photoshop also handles video these days. I'm not sure if it'll do what you want though. But, if you have it, it might be worth a try.
