Adorama currently has a special on the Nikon D600.  You're basically getting the 24-85mm lens for free!

Currys/PCWorld are doing the same kit for £1599 in the UK

Now looks like the time to start watching for deals on the D600

Was speaking to a friend whose a Camera dealer he reckons the D600 will drop in price like a stone after a couple of months of the D610 being released as Nikon will be trying to clear the stock of D600's he has heard (not officially) that the D600 will be quietly dropped from the line up unlike other Nikons which have hung around long after they have been superceded (the D90 as an example)

I don't see a reason to keep the D600 around considering that the D610 is virtually identical.  I'm sure it'll start selling in the $1500 range soon! (the offer above is close to that considering you also get the lens)

Could be a great opportunity for users that have been waiting for FF!

Especially as the last batch which went out had been largely solved of the oil and dust problems which plagued the originals except a few rogue ones

It'd be pretty hard to pass up that eventual low price for a solid ff

This year's holiday season will be very interesting, as the marketing is getting more and more competitive!

If the D600 has 'oil spots' in the photo is it just annoying but easy to correct in lightroom? If its easy to edit, I might be hunting for one of these.

Thanks,
