What is meant buy refurbished? Used, open box... Generally how many actuation's are on these refurbs?

What is a "factory refurbished" camera?
The one I bought from Adorama had less than 400 shutter actuations on it.

I went to that link and one of the featured deals is a D750 with the 24-120 lens for $2,399.95 If thats US, which I suspect it is, that translates to $3,279 Canadian. Henrys has that kit brand new for $3.149 Canadian. So not much of a deal.
I got an email in the past few days stating that B&H was selling the D750 for US1499 in a package that included a battery grip and one year subscription to the Adobe Photography Plan. There were similar savings on D810's and D500's. All of which included grips and the photography plan. These savings were for NEW cameras. Not refurbs.
I imagine that Adorama will be matching or bettering these offers.

This year I took the plunge (gamble) and purchased refurbished equipment that came with a one year warranty. So far, I have had to return the kit lens twice for repairs. I have not received it yet, as it is scheduled for delivery by 8:00pm on Thursday, May 25th, 2017. The interesting part is that when a unit is sent in for repairs, that repair work is only warrantied for six months. Even though the equipment is warrantied for 12 months, whatever repair work was done under warranty, is only good under warranty for six months. If I have to return it for a third repair, they will be getting more than just my lens.
Thanks for reading,
Tony

True that $749.00 difference is not much of a savings. The worst part is that Nikon warranties their refurbished equipment for only 90 days, whereas other manufacturers warranty their refurbished equipment for at least 12 months. New equipment which can and does run into the thousands of dollars comes with a one year, extendable warranty. Well, at best, it is a turkey shoot. You take your chances and hope for the best.
Rgds,

I have purchased quite a few refurbished cameras from Nikon, most recently the D750 and V1. They were just like new and have never given me any problems.
