Anyone have first hand experience with one of these? I'm on the fence about buying one. I can either get one of those or pick up the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 & the Rokinon 85mm f/1.4. I have a feeling that the Sigma might be more useful overall but the f/1.4 of the other two lenses really is making me flip-flop.

I'll be using them for weddings/events and artistic shots primarily.  I'm going to be shooting a wedding soon and I'd like to pick up one of these for the event.

Any experiences or suggestions?

I've only read good things about it, but no personal experiance.

Surely this can be decided on FL alone, not max aperture? Would you use 18-35mm more or 50 and 85mm?

Yeah, that's what I am not sure about. Would I use the 18-35 more because of it's utility or the primes more because of sharpness and low light ability. 1/2 stop doesn't seem like that much but it counts and the extra focal length is really useful for portraits and shooting from a more comfortable distance.

One of the greatest frustrations and most entertaining parts of this hobby is lens choices LOL

The 18-35mm is razor from all the reviews I've read.  Definitely the better choice if you are doing walk around street and landscape everyday shooting.  The 50 and 85 are very much focused on portraits and head shots.  If price is an issue I'd get the 18-35mm plus a $200 Nikon 50mm 1.8g, its an amazing lense to.

I've just bought a brand new one from a camera store liquidation, so about 30% off. Will take a few days to get here.

I don't "need" it, but have always wanted it.

I'm really liking my Sigma 24-105 1.4.  I think you will like the Sigma.  It will be heavier than you are used to and the zoom ring rotates the opposite direction of a Nikon lens.

I'm used to the zoom thing, got another Sigma zoom that does that.

Isn't your 24-105 an f4, not f1.4?!
