Man, after watching awful news stories about violence in Honduras, my first interpretation of that subject line was waaaay off.

 

Nice shot though. I like the foreground blur of what I assume is chainlink fence of the backstop.

I do not think it is fence. It seems like a strange flare. 

I shoot a lot of softball (75K and counting) and have gotten very good at not getting the fence in shots. 

In the color shot you can see what appears to be flaring.

Yup...looks like some flaring but there might be a hint of fence in the as well...probably the combination made the fence more visible than it otherwise would have been...hard to tell one way or the other...

lol, that is what I thought it was, flare, until I started reading the posts.

Just curious, have you tried bumping up the contrast a little to see if it removes (or at least lessens) the flare looking parts of the image?
