Here's a quick guide on how to post photos on the forum!
1: Attach a Photo Directly
The easiest way to post a photo is to attach it directly to your post. You can upload multiple photos at once, too, and even drag-and-drop on top of the "choose files" button.
By default, attached photos will be shown at the end of your post, but if you want them to show up inline (i.e. below a description that you put in your post), you can accomplish this on a per-photo basis using the "add to post" links shown in the attachment area.
2: Upload to the Nikon Forums Photo Gallery
Head over to the photo gallery and upload a photo by clicking on the big "upload" button. You can choose to but your uploads in either a personal album or a general category.
Once your photo is uploaded, grab the BBcode as shown in the screenshot below, and paste it into your post.
You can also use method 3b if you find that easier.
3a: Embed an off-site image from a photo sharing site (i.e. Flickr)
Proceed to your photo host and locate the BBCode sharing link. On Flickr, this can be found as follows (sharing for the photo must be enabled):
Paste this text into your post where you'd like the photo to appear:
Rinse and repeat as often as you need.
3b: Embed any online image
As long as you know the URL to the image file, any photo that's already online can be shared on the forum. The image URL is obtained by right-clicking on an image and selecting "copy image URL" or "copy shortcut". The correct URL will almost always end in .JPG, .PNG, .JPEG, etc.
Click on the photo icon in the editor and embed the URL in your post:
Alternatively, you can simply manually wrap the image URL in IMG BBCode tags. The result will be the same
If you accidentally copy a link to a web page, your photo will not be displayed. Go to that web page and locate the image URL.
