A friend of mine, and fellow photographer, asked me to take some photos at his engagement party. Event photography isn't usually my thing, but I when he asked I couldn't say no.

I was shooting a rodeo Friday while visiting family. These were taken with the D5 and Tamron 150-600, which would not be my first choice for these types of shots. But, as they were shots of opportunity vs planned, you go with what you have. Sorry, I couldn't pick just one...

I decided to work the front yard for this photo.  This is a "Black Eyed Susan Vine."  I believe it turned out rather well.

Enjoy and thanks so much for viewing.

I went out  with a shooting buddy Sat.. I went lite D200 and Sigma 28-80. He wasn't so lite He wanted to spend some time with his Graflex large format camera. These three young men stopped to ask about it and allowed their pictures to be taken I took this while he was setting the camera and loading the film carrier.

Late as usual...didn't shoot too much this week, but had the Nikon 1 out as I'm giving my wife some instructions so she can take photos at a wedding shower this weekend.  She wandered off and I caught my son's dog, Raven, laying on the back of the couch.

Of course, the available light was perfect - if I had a tripod - and the flash is not what I'd call impressive on the Nikon 1 V3.  That said, I did get this capture with the flash.  It was rather under exposed, but I think I was able to get something reasonable out of it...I used Silver Efex for the conversion and after trying most of the options, settled on Kodak Tri-X.

Managed to get my camera out a couple times this week--didn't have to process any images until tonight though, so I'm late too.  In good company, I see. ;)

Fantastic images this week! Lots of beautiful places and people...and canines. :) Rob, your little girl has grown so much!!! Wow! What a doll!

I'm posting an image of my little one too--who is also growing so quickly and not so little anymore. Every year on her birthday, we do some formal portraits. This year, we decided to head up to a mountain trail in the Wasatch Mountains. It rained pretty hard on us! But we had a good time anyway.

Heh...and now that I know how to capture lightning, I need to find a good location with an interesting landscape--this silly little shot from my front porch is a bit of a waste of a good storm. Suburban rooftops and streetlights do not an awesome image make. In my defense, we only moved here two months ago, and I haven't had time to scout any such locations. But I need to--we're coming on the best time of year for thunderstorms!  And I'm so lazy--still had the 85mm on the camera from my daughter's portrait session.

No worries! At least you posted a really cool image for us to see twice. ;) It's very intriguing--don't suppose you'd care to explain a little bit about how you achieved it?
