And I bet Nikon are hoping an end to the oil and dust problems which have plagued the D600 with the change might make me wait a little longer before I decide to get my new camera as going FF was an option but the shutter problems did make me decide against it

Don't forget the new badge too, it says "D610". On the scale of upgrades for this model that's gotta be pretty important.

Might as well just stick with the D7100!!!   Other than having a full frame sensor, and maybe the new and improved weather sealing, the 7100 is better in everyway

So let me ask the obvious question.  Does the introduction and marketing campaign for the D610 refocus on "clarity" and a new camera, or does it just remind eveeryone about Nikon's bad customer service for the D600 issues and the oils spots?

 

I say there is not enough product differentiation to make everyone forget about the D600 and forgive Nikon for bad customer service.

Might as well just stick with the D7100!!!   Other than having a full frame sensor, and maybe the new and improved weather sealing, the 7100 is better in everyway

Yes totally agree, I'll be sticking to the 7100 too. Not enough of an incentive to move to FX.

Exactly!   I'm sticking with my D7000 untill I have enough for a d4 or hopefully the D400 if/when it comes out
