I recently spent a week in North Yorkshire, an area not well known to me. It was more an R&R break from work but as always the camera is always the first thing packed.
We happened upon Cauldron Falls in West Burton quite by accident while out for a drive and spent an hour or so here. The image was taken using an ND filter to provide the slow shutter speed.
High Force waterfall is a popular tourist attraction on the River Tees not far from the town of Barnard Castle. This image was taken using a 10-stop ND to provide a exposure of around 15 seconds.
The image of the River Wharfe in Wharfedale was taken in a small village called Kettlewell where we stopped a small cafe for some lunch then spend an hour or so on the river bank snapping the river and the local ducks. This image was again taken with the use of a 10-stop ND filter.
The Upper Aysgarth Falls is another very popular tourist spot and the image is taken from the road bridge. The Upper Falls are the first in a series of three distinct sets of falls all easily accessible. Again, the 10-stop ND was used to slow the shutter speed down.
In all shots the weather was not on our side, very grey and overcast and occasionally drizzle so in order to try create something interesting I made use of the 10-stop ND more than I normally would.
