Wow - that's quite an upgrade I think. You should love it, but a little tricky to start with with the different field of view.

I am excited that they fixed the sludgy shutter issue.  Now that the issue has been addressed it will be interesting to see what Nikon does for current D600 owners.

Tried the D610 with a few sample shots using Nikon's 50mm f1.8g lens at Henry's up in Canada. After a few shots. I was so impressed with the results I bought this prime lens for my D600 and D300. Sample shots of this lens on the D600 were much sharper than the images shot with the kit lens 24-85mm AFS F3.5-4.5 shot at 50mm.

So why do I want the D610? Damn I love this technology

PS haven't had any of the issues  with my D600 that some described as oil spots of dust on the sensor

Sure makes me glad I didn't buy the D600 already! Although it seems silly to release an update so soon and with so few changes. Wish they had added a CF card slot! That would have cemented the D610 as the next camera I'm buying.... It's still between this and the D800 for me though since they didnt.

I hope the d600 gets a price cut rather than being discontinued. If the D610's price was the same with the D600, this wouldn't be very controversial, IMO.

Got to finally spend some good quality time with my D610 and it's an amazing camera!  I love the light weight of it, as opposed to the "pro" cameras.  They are heavy.  And you get pro quality.  I hope to post pics this week.  Been busy.

When i'm going to upgrade to FX I will get the cheaper D600, and if i get any for oil/dust issues i can some swabs for a few dollars.

Has anyone owned both of these and found any other differences?

I only own the D600 and I have no regrets at all about getting it.

I was thinking hard on an upgrade and being a nikon fan boy, cant help but love the soon to arrive 610, eventhough all I've herd is people whine about it. TBT ones i try it out and i like it, I'll buy it, regardless of how 'its priced so close tothe 800 that you might aswell get it'.
