Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 26 June 2016, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style--just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. Come play with us in the editing exercise. The editing exercise is taking a break for the summer, but everyone is welcome to go into old editing exercises and play around.

P.P.S. Also check out the new music inspiration challenge--we have until the end of the month to submit an image for the challenge.

Ok, I'll be first. I'm not a big "taking pictures of flowers person" but I couldn't resist the water lily in my backyard pond. D3s, 5000 ISO, 600mm, Shutter @ 640, F10. Had to wait for an overcast day to get that even light.

Apparently you should be doing it more often--that's really beautiful!

I will submit a shot of the Summer solstice full moon at 4 AM.  It was a bit cloudy that night when the moon was rising.  To me the clouds were more interesting than the moon.  I almost turned it into a b/w but I like the touch of blue in the sky.

D750, 70-300 Tamron, 400 iso, 1/3 sec @f10

Here is a flower which I consider to be a lucky find. Has a sort of elegance to it.  Enjoy and thanks so much for viewing.

This one is for Rob, as he seems a bit nostalgic for the film days.

Yeah, it's one of the camera models I regret not purchasing.

After a 10 hour drive on Saturday, I went back to the Isle of sky to get another shot of Loch Cill and on the way get a panoramic at Glencoe. A long day but worth it

First shot was taken with the 7100 with Tamron 10-20mm

Second shot with the 750 and Nikon f/1.8 50mm

50/1.1 Nokton wide-open. I've compared this lens with the 50/1.2 Ais Nikkor. Both are very good, but have an easier time focusing the Nokton with the Rangefinder.

Nikon made a 50mm F1.1 for the S-Mount, I've used one.

If only Nikon had put a match-needle meter in the FM or FM2... I never liked the diode meter.

Ok it's just a crappy iPhone pic but it's not everyday that you are sitting out on the deck drinking coffee and petting the dog when a B17 flies over.

I slipped out yesterday evening to try a lens a buddy has been talking about A 28-80 /3.55.6 II Macro. Here are a couple of shots with it on my D200.

Behind as usual!

I spent a bit of time challenging myself this past weekend...I tried to shoot some of our backyard birds from inside our screened in porch...All shots are with my Nikon 1 and 10-100mm lens at 100mm (270mm equivalent) at ISO 200 and f5.6.  I did shoot a few of the birds over by the feeder...

Birds-4891.jpg

1/500

But I mostly tried to capture the ever elusive hummingbirds...It seemed like a hummingbird (not always the same one) would come by their feeder once every 3-5 minutes.  I started trying to shoot them with my D4 and 70-200 but it was loud enough that it would scare them off when the first frame fired...so that's why I switched to the Nikon 1 to see how it would work...didn't seem to bother them...of course, much harder to get good images though and the time to focus cost me what would have been some excellent images...but I did manage to get a few...

Birds-4743.jpg

1/1000

You can definitely see the fence in the background on this one and I can see the screen impacted it somewhat...

Birds-4842.jpg

1/800

Again the fence in back, but the screen is a bit less obvious...even with the screen, I think it was my favorite of the hummingbirds for the day...

Birds-4866.jpg

1/640

The screen is much less visible here due to the dark background...

I was playing with different speeds to see what I could do with the wings as I knew they were moving faster than 1/1000 anyway...I am going to follow this up with a tripod, D4, 200-400 and maybe the 1.4TC from outside the porch over the summer to see if I can do better...but I had a good time anyway...

Back to editing!

Nice shots TBonz. I tried early on to get some good hummingbird shots but then they all disappeared. Then I broke my feeder. Time to get another one out and see what happens.

I second that emotion. I also wish that, in current Nikon cameras, that the exposure ladder were on the right side rather than buried down on the bottom where it can get lost in the information clutter down there. A right side match-needle exposure ladder would be heaven.
