I paid hundreds more for mine just a few years ago.  This is the US version, with US warranty.

Not bad, if wanting NIKON NIKKOR for lens, then its a good buy!
Personally I prefer the sharper Tamron, which is slightly cheaper - however, build quality of the NIKKOR is excellent (and freakin' cold i snow*)
