Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 19 June 2016, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style--just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. Come play with us in the editing exercise. This is our last week of the editing exercise before taking a break for the summer, but everyone is welcome to go into old editing exercises and play around.

P.P.S. Also check out the new music inspiration challenge--music has already been posted for June's challenge!

I didnt enter this game before, thing is... I'm ALWAYS behind on checking my photos :(
Still have ~6000 pictures left from my Asia trip, of which ended close to 2 weeks ago...

Regarding EXIF info... I just noticed when uploading on the website... 1.5MB limit each picture, but they are typically 15-30MB in JPEG... Should I resize in PS and keep the EXIF, or do you use external site such as FLICKR?

Cheers.

Both are possible.

If you have 15-30MB JPEG files you are probably generating them at 100% quality ratio - use an 80% ratio and you will probably end up with 2-5 MB without noticeable differences on the internet. So getting down to 1.5MB requires something like a 65% quality ratio.

Uploading to Flickr is also possible. Use the BBC code (see share/export on Flickr) to insert the capture here in a posting.

Kind of boring, but hardly anyone is posting images this week so I added one. Business portrait I did. Company hires me once a year to capture their new employees. D3s, 85 mm lens, F2.5, ISO 320 @ 1/320.

They wanted the images shot in the open office so to keep the busy background at a minimum I wanted the fast F stop and higher shutter speed. Light source was a Westcott softbox.

Not much doing for me photographically but I liked this (not so) little fella - a Capybara

I wanted to see if something relatively lightweight would work. It seems like it did.

Carbon tri-bikes with >80 mm rims aren't quite ideal on the cobbled streets around the university and cathedral.

This was a $15 lens, I had one like it in 1971 when I first went to this Airshow.

Flying Circus Brian?  My friend had a place they used to practice over so I've seen lots of their flying although I never "officially" got to the show...

I spent lots of time on various projects this week and some family time since both boys were home...so, not much in the way of photos, but did grab this one with my phone...we were off on a golf cart ride and saw a fire in the distance...

IMG_0688.jpg

I've been busy shooting already this week along with working on plans for covering the high school games this coming year so hopefully I will be in a good position to do lots of photography this coming season.

Now to go off and edit the > 1000 images I've shot the last two days...

I'm never really prepared but somehow make something work well enough for me. I had my dinosaur D90 and my Micro 40mm and nothing else. My girls had no idea that I was taking a picture.

Rontography, if your D90 is a dinosaur, what do you call my D300 or the D200-s many still use as you have to get a D7100 or newer to get full backwards compatibility with old glass and as nice skintones without effort on DX as the D200 had.

Your photo for this week is a prime example of why it is more important to have an eye, good technique and be familiar with your equipment than having the latest and greatest.

I appreciate that. I'm really in tune with what I have because it's all I have. It's not much but it works for me and I'm not trying to earn any money doing it. I think that is what a lot of people are lacking. I thought I was going to have to knock my wife down when she started to holler at them to turn around. She doesn't get it.

I agree with you both!  Knowing your gear and having an eye will get you more quality images!
