I often shoot as low to the ground as possible, I find it adds to the DOF as theres provides a greater perspective of distance... heres a few examples:

Is that Damien Maia in the grappling pic? looks like him. I took one of his seminars a year or so ago. Awesome guy.

It sure is, I got to shoot a seminar he put on in Vancouver. Got to go for dinner with him and chat for a few hours, very awesome guy and he's fighting tomorrow night.

I've been very fortunate to shoot some MMA personalities in my short photography life.

Here's Dana White (actually got to know him pretty well, despite popular opinion one of the best people I've ever met):

Bellators Daniel Straus and Renato Laranja

Justin Wren and Renzo Gracie:

Cheers

I like to hold the camera down low and move it around with auto focus on and see what I get. Sometimes, I'm pleasantly surprised...

I usually get law to make a shot of child or an animal. when you and your object are on the same level the shots become more interesting. But I never try to get law when I shot some other subjects. I like your photos so I will try it. Thank you for advice.

I often bring small plastic carpet or knees pads when I go for a shooting outside the studio. Going lower is a good option when framing is not interesting

I've bought cheap kneepads that velcro on, looks a bit dorky, but quite comfortable.

A camera with an articulated screen + LV (like D5000, D5100 or D5200) helps with that problem. I have a D5100 and I can take pictures with the camera almost touching the ground while just squatting.

That's a good idea, knee pads.

I have had interesting results taking photographs of people from a position close to the ground. The look on their faces are also interesting.

The owner asked if I could check the oil while I was down there lol:

I always take a few car pics from this sort of angle - it makes even 'ordinary cars' look dramatic, probably because we nearly always see them from the same sort of height. I don't know why car ad's don't make more use of this effect ........
