Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 17 April 2016, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style--just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. Come play with us in the editing exercise.

I love this picture from the Daytona high banks. Believe it or not the mini is going by at greater than 100 mph with the lift gate open. You would think the air pressure would close it, but no. In case you're wondering the mini's chassis had just a bit too much flex going into the chicane and the lift gate popped open. He was black flagged to make the lift gate more secure.

This is the inside of a cooling tower. On the lower part you see where the water circulates and the rear structure is the wall.
Both the circular and the starlike structures give interesting looks, due to their simple, yet regular layouts.

A cooling tower for what? Nuclear power?

.. No I am not playing Homer Simpson ... :)

Cooling towers are also used for other industry, this one was for a coal plant.

Also to mention that this particular site is open - and has been secured for - the public, even so not a playground for children.

Number of other photographers there at the same time than me, one of them doing a photoshooting with a model. So getting a capture without anyone else standing somewhere became a challenge.

I see. My guess was based on the semi-familiar shape. I imagined what it would look like on the outside and I came up with nuclear power cooling tower .

We just spent a night at the La Posada Hotel in Winslow AZ.  Took a few b/w's while walking around the grounds.  The hotel is an old railroad hotel converted a few years ago into  boutique hotel.  Winslow is a switching yard for the BNSF railroad.  We sit on the patio overlooking the switching yards. Quite interesting.

I went outside again after a rainy day and captured these images. All were taken with Tamron 90mm/2.8 VC.

#3 I was my first time shooting a spider. The spider was very small and it was quite windy, but I quite like the end result.

I'm going to throw mine in while I have "real" Internet coverage tonight...We are mostly online via an iPad hotspot on and off for awhile...

We have made it through 5 of the 14 baseball games and that's pretty much all I've had time to shoot between travel and work along with those pesky taxes that are just about due :)!

Just 2 shots - both caught in the same game last night...In the first image, the batter is trying to get out of the way of a baseball that is traveling at about 90 miles per hour or so (+ or - a couple mph)...he was not successful and ended up scoring the first run of the game...

In the second is my son stealing home on a wild pitch...He was safe!

Baseball again on Saturday and Sunday!

Well, I decided I had to add this photo...it is an iPhone panoramic photo that my son asked me to take at a night game...I'm hopefully going to try it again at the night game coming up this week but I am going to do it with both the iPhone and try to grab some images with my 24-70 that I can try to stitch together...

Here is one of my favorites.  It took some time to get what I felt was the best of everything that was available for a decent and hopefully interesting photograph.  Enjoy and thanks for looking.

And I bet it was no photos allowed?  Lawbreaker!

Here are a couple more from my recent trip - these are all in Fiordland National Park, New Zealand.
