It has two big faults for an F4. First is that it is an APS lens, so it won't work on 35 mm and second is that it is a G-type lens without an aperture ring. G lenses only work in P and S modes as the F4 doesn't have a control wheel to input the aperture on the body and the lens doesn't have an aperture control ring.

If you are comfortable with manual focus, this is a pro-calibre classic. They work well with modern digital bodies too.
