Whoosh! What a fine set, Rob--those are beautiful! I love the lines in number 1, and the trees in 3 & 5 are so striking to me. Really, really lovely work.

P.S. I wouldn't complain if you gave the locations of each image...you know, so I can plan my next trip abroad.  :)

Hi Rob,

Wonderful series, all very well and very interesting.  I would like to know what photo gear you were using.

Thanks again,

Tony

Thank you for the kind feedback. This was the first proper outing with my D750 and also the first time I shot entirely in manual mode for the full 2 weeks.

First off, the locations, the rock formations were taken at Brimham Rocks on the Yorkshire Dales, well worth a visit. It was a perfect day for shooting, no rain, partly cloudy and nice and frosty.
The castle is Brough Castle, located on the A66 towards Penrith.

The Waterfall is Grey Mare's Tail, Located in the Moffat hills in the Scottish Borders

The Mountains and Loch were all taken on the Journey to Fort William, Glencoe and Ben Nevis. A fantastic part of Scotland and I would suggest that anyone planning on coming to Scotland takes time out to travel up there.

Camera equipment used, I had the D750, Nikon 50mm f/1.8G, Nikon 85mm f/1.8G I also had the use of a Tamron SP 15-30mm f2.8 (My next lens to purchase) and Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3. I didnt have any filters attached or use the Tripod, all were hand held. I've not really done much processing on them, apart from the 1st and 3rd ones as the sky didn't work out how I had planned. I'll post some more pics once I get the time to have a look at them and process the RAW files.

Also, I've started to really look at each scene before taking the picture, I read somewhere (think it might have been from a link someone provided on here), that you imagine your shot blown up and framed on the wall, would it look good, is the composition right, does the light work. So now instead of snapping away and taking many shots for the same scene, I've cut my shots back and maybe taken 2 or 3 with different settings or different positions. personally i've noticed a huge improvement in my shots and learned much more about camera settings and light using this method. It's something I'm aiming to improve on this year. I also want to start getting some of my images printed and used to decorate my home.
