Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 14 February 2016, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style--just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

P.S. The editing exercise has started up again, so come play with us.

I never said "she" didn't come my way. As you can see she did. It was a bit unnerving when she disappeared, but probably swam right underneath us in an effort to get away.

So I am back to shooting sports!  My "official" Media Pass finally showed up in the mail this week so I am good through the school year and should not have a problem getting them in future years.

I had actually planned to shoot both basketball and wrestling this week, but wrestling got postponed last night due to the snow...but more on the snow later...First, basketball...I shot both the girls and boys varsity games at a local high school.  I had one D4 with the 70-200 and the other with the 24-70.  Info and lens below...

SJ@CHGirls-9451.jpg

ISO 12800, 1/1000, f2.8 - 70-200 @ 70mm

SJ@CHGirls-9671.jpg

ISO 10000, 1/1000, f2.8 - 70-200 @ 70mm

SJ@CHBoys-0106.jpg

ISO 10000, 1/1000, f2.8 - 70-200 @ 70mm

SJ@CHBoys-2680.jpg

ISO 12800, 1/800, f2.8 - 24-70 @ 45mm

I actually shot about the same number of images with each body and kept about the same number as well even though only one above was with the 24-70...

Back to the snow although I really hate to call it a snow storm...here in North Carolina, they closed the schools in our county at 11AM so that kids could get back home before any weather issues...Later that afternoon, we had a small herd of ten hungry deer who decided to eat a bit of our neighbor's grass...I shot these two from the 2nd floor window...Please notice the heavy snow cover :)!!!

SnowDeer-0260.jpg

ISO 10000, 1/400, f5.6 - 70-200 @ 135mm

I shot this last image as they started to wander back into our yard...

Deer-0312.jpg

ISO 10000, 1/400, f5.6 - 70-200 @ 200mm

I was also supposed to shoot a horse show today, but they postponed that as well...probably a good idea, but I was kind of bummed out about it as I'd been looking forward to shooting it...

The Nikkor and Canon are from the early 1950s, the J-3+- just back in production for 2016. It has been Sixty Years since KMZ made a Jupiter-3.

I attended my first BMX race last weekend.  So many kids.  1900 registered for Saturdays race.  I shot this silhouette hoping to catch the young girls as they were passing the setting sun just after the start gate.

D750, Tamron 70-300, iso 360, 1/800 @f 6.3, 70mm, M mode.

I have my computer semi working again.

Rose-D200.jpg Here is a shot of my wife's Valentine Rose.

Taken with the D200 with the 105 mounted, Rose is in front of a window that is being rained upon.
