Is it possible to have the camera part of the Home Wi-Fi network?

I was hoping to download my photos using Wi-Fi in lieu of the USB connection.

If so, could you please explain the procedure.

The WiFi is only for connecting to a smartphone or tablet, unfortunately. It uses a simplified communications protocol that isn't supported on a LAN.

Most computers these days have a slot for SD cards.  Pull the card out of the camera and put it into your PC...much faster and easier than having to hook up the camera in my opinion...no real need to involve the camera in a simple file copy...
