Both of you have posted such stunning images all year round--it's fun to see you narrow them down to these fantastic few!
I think I've settled on these for the year... It was hard to narrow it down!!!!

I have too many to choose from, but here are a few over the past 6 months that make me smile when I see them
Love your snorting locomotive Sorry for the strange edit. My reply to you was merged with my picture post; made for a mess -- lol
This year has been an incredible year for us...far from perfect, but many changes...I've been blessed with new photography opportunities and challenges with our move to North Carolina, some travel and trying to get back into sports photography in a new area. What I tried to do was include a bit of this into my set by trying to select images from the wide variety that I've shot this year. Well, I got down to about 50-60 images...Obviously I needed to cut more...that wasn't easy, but I got rid of the deer and tried to cut the number of "similar" shots...I made it down to 12......
I honestly couldn't decide which of the two sunsets I liked better...These two images were taken months apart and were both taken with my iPhone camera.
Of course, I had to include sports...starting two football shots that I loved from this past fall...
I got to shoot my first rugby game and a fall baseball scrimmage as well...
And lastly a new opportunity shooting some horse competitions...
I had to include a couple of nature shots and chose these over the many shots of deer...
On our trip to Florida, I got the chance to get some additional wildlife shots...
I couldn't miss out on the reason for our Florida trip, so I include this shot of my niece and her husband!
Looking forward to lots of shooting this coming year (and hopefully keeping my favorites better organized to save time in doing this next year!)...
A bit of a funny year, turned upside down in April, let's hope 2016 is better.
Just about the only reason I would like a modern camera - the low light capability.

My son & I went plane spotting. After a freezing campsite, we were treated to a USAF exercise.

I hate the modern selfie, but I needed one. Camera in the bedroom, me stood on the stairs holding a reflector & Olympus T20 slave flash, remote in the other hand.

And then July comes... The Royal International Air Tattoo, six days, ear defenders, suncream and lots of memory cards.

On the campsite we stay on, a couple bring their pet goose, he has more Facebook followers than me and is the campsite mascot. He even goes on shopping trips!

Here is a photo taken at Ecola State Park, Cannon Beach, Oregon. This shot required a lot of manipulation in PP, and I thank everyone who offered their assistance. A very bright day with lots of harsh sunlight.
Please enjoy and thanks for looking.

Another photo taken at Ecola State Park, Cannon Beach, Oregon. I call this a family group photo. We have Papa Rock, Mama Rock, Junior Rock and Baby Rock. It appears to be twilight time, however it was only 02:15. This required a lot of use of Hoya HMC CPL. Please enjoy and thanks for looking.

This photo I must admit is just about my all time favorite. It is one of those that the longer I look at it, the longer I want to look at it. Actually I was quite pleased at how well it turned out, because when I first noticed the seagull, I was in the middle of swapping out lenses. Please enjoy and thanks for looking.

This photo I am sure has been seen by many on this site. Quite a memorable day since Miss Pinky was really playing up to the camera. Her older sister seemed a bit indifferent, paying more attention to her compact camera. I am very happy with the way this turned out, since it was such a tremendous joy to have them near us. Thanks for looking.

This shot was taken at Rock Creek Country Club in Beaverton, Oregon. The course was nearly laid to waste by two consecutive, horrific storms that had uprooted many trees and caused a tremendous amount of damage from flooding and soil erosion. New owners brought it back to life and now it is a model of golf course excellence. Thanks for looking.

This was a beautiful day for shooting in Seaside, Oregon with many seascapes, landscapes and people scapes. This shot I call "The Lookout, One if by land, two if by sea.) Please enjoy and thanks for looking.

Difficult to choose.
Bee on Lavender.
Attempting a 3-D effect.
First attempt with my new Macro lens.
The Drill Sergeant.
Gathering Nectar.
It's a Tamron 90mm prime, Peter.
I've been blown away with the clarity of the lens.
For me 2015 was the start of my Crew One Photography business after a couple years as a hobbiest. When I started this I was expecting to do some family portraits, real estate and industrial/corporate photography. Never did I realise I would gravitate to working with models. But that is how it has panned out and I have discovered that I enjoy this the most.
Thought I would give an explanation to each shot.
Part of my enjoyment of working with models came from meeting this you lady. I contacted a local modeling agency and informed them I wanted to work with one of their girls throughout the year in a collaborative way. They put me in contact with Maddie. For a young girl (15 in this photo) she is amazingly professional. And so far out of the girls I have worked with, still ranks as the most professional. It's a matter of tell her what I want and put the camera to my face and keep up. This photo was from our first shoot. Just a "get to know you" thing. No real goals in mind.

I get along quite well with my ex-wife. We share a daughter and have 50/50 custody. Some time ago she started a business selling womens clothes from home. She was wanting some original photos to use to advertise her clothes and engaged me to do the shoot. A local hair salon got on board too and suddenly we had a group of girls and a team of stylists on board. The job became pretty massive, pretty quickly. I had never done anything like this and to top it off I decided I wanted to learn how to use flash/lighting. I received my lighting gear about two day prior to this shoot so there's no better place to learn than in the field huh? I didn't realise at the time, but I had accidently dialed in my lighting ratios to under-expose the ambient (I really had no idea what I was doing other than what I had seen on youtube). This particular one is a bit of a re-hash of my original edit, using some newly learned skills that I got through the year.

The second time Maddie and I worked together. Why not go all out with a crazy concept, with extremely difficult lighting requirements and go for something a bit more artistic? I like this one enough I just ordered a 30"x20" canvas print of it.

Annnnnd.... Maddie again. I told you I like working with her. This was my very first time ever in a studio environment. So a lot of trial by fire. Much like my first try with lighting in the above picture, I may not have a lot of experience going into these things, but I am extremely well prepared and have done my research prior to actually having to do it myself. This shoot had two different styles. One bright, punky look and this Audrey Hepburn-esque look. I originally processed this as a B&W and it wasn't until later I came back and processed it again in colour and liked it more. Also discovered the D810 is a beast in the studio.

Something different. It does happen occasionally. I was joining a photographer mate to take photos of the fireworks at our local show. Something we did together with previous year. Prior to him getting there I took this one looking back up the main street of my city. In the distance you can see one of the LNG plants that have been constructed on Curtis Island which is actually quite some distance away on the other side of the harbour. This photo surprised me and every other local i have shown it to. Nobody realises there is this much colour there at night as this is a view very few people would actually see as it is up a hill that just has residential property on it.

I picked this final one as it was when I finally really become comfortable with my lighting. By now things aren't quite so accidental. But beyond that I just like the pose. It's different. The sun backlighting her is gorgeous. Plus it has brutal sharpness.

And this is a bonus if anyone cares. Not because the subject is interesting in any way (just a head shot of some guy nobody here cares about). I like it more for technical aspects. The clarity and detail still amazes me. Should see the full resolution file on my 4k screen!
