[Headstill]

Took photos of my son's travel football team at a tournament this weekend. I learned a lot about my equipment and how much luck is envolvd in taking sports photography. Overall I was pleased with the results and look forward to taking more sports photos. 

 

 

All of these were taken with a D5200  on a monopod

 

Nikkor AF-S 55-300 VR accept  O-LINE was with the AF-S 18-55 VR

Good stuff. Have you got the lens wide open to try and blur the background?

Don't be afraid to crop tighter if you've got enough pixels left, esp. no.1.

Thank you both, yes I was doing my best to keep the shutter speed up, while still allowing room for the autofocus to keep up. The day before was a much brighter day that allowed more blur in the background.
