So ive been shooting for about two years now, last year I shot with a  D90 then a friend of mine said I should upgrade to a full frame camera, so I purchased the D610.

the problem im having is trying to do long exposures, ones upward of a couple minutes. with the d90 I was able to do very long exposures with the help of the Nikon remote. however when I try doing equally long exposures with the d610, the camera stops at 30 seconds. now I have the camera in manual, ISO is set according to the lighting and shutter speed on "bulb" for the remote. ive searched for a couple hours trying to figure this out but im ready to tap out. any help would be great

I think you would be better off with Time mode on you d610. In Bulb mode you have to hold the shutter button for the whole exposure, while in Time you press it once to start the exposure and the second time to stop it. At least that is what I do with my d750 and wireless remote. For longer exposures (more than 30 seconds) I use an app on my Android phone to calculate the actual time needed to get the right exposure.

Hope this helps!
