Photographing grandkids is every grandparent's joy.But not necessarily the "little munchkins" idea of joy. :D

Yeah my pets get a fair amount of exposure... My cat Fred probably gets the brunt of it. ;)

Just posted some images on the gallery taken in London. They sort of highlight the type of pictures I like taking.

Where Are they?

What kind of bird is that, rocknrumble?

I have the Nikkor 105mm macro and am loving it.

How fun to see the variety of what draws our photographic eyes!

I'm coveting all your macros, by the way. It may be the next lens I buy.

As for what I like to photograph...almost everything. Though I am narrowing it down--lately I've been discovering what I don't like to photograph. I was asked to photograph a corporate event. Did it. Discovered that I don't know if I want to do that again. Cars and newborns don't particularly interest me either.

I love rural and rustic scenes, especially of the American West--love farmers and ranchers.

I love taking photos of the night sky, especially with the Milky Way.

I adore taking pictures of people I love, especially my four-year-old.

rocknrumble, did I see that you reviewed the Tamron 180mm macro? And you also have the Sigma 150mm macro?

Which do you prefer? I can't believe the sharpness you got in the shots above with that Sigma! I thought I was in the market for the Tamron, but now that I see these...I need to do more research.

Seriously though. Which do you like best? And have you had a chance to try out the Nikkor 105mm? (I should probably go check out dxomark.com instead of pestering you!)

Oh, duh. That wasn't you on the Tamron review, rocknrumble--it was K-9. So off to DxOMark I go!

Still, I'm amazed at the quality of the images you got with the Sigma. Nice job.
