dont know if this is the right forum section but, lots of sites running the story now. 2.9m compromised, possibly including credit/debit card info.

Part of me want to vent my ire about the Creative Cloud and laugh at Adobe ... just point and laugh at them for this... but it's not funny. Adobe didn't have their credit card information exposed, their customers did. At least they are offering 1 year of free credit monitoring to their members.

At least my email address with them was years old and doesn't exist any more anyway!

Creative cloud was not the best idea. I think they will probably lose more people then they gain with it. It just seems messy and it makes them look a bit greedy. I guess that's why they got hacked. Others feel the same.

I can't remember if I ever logged in and got an Adobe account.  I believe I ordered Lightroom 4 through Amazon, which was full of bugs from the start.  I won't be ordering Lightroom 5 or any Adobe products going forward.

its probably a hacker group thats angry with adobe for going to an online service, cutting them out of money from illegal sales. there are many people using hacked software. i have had many people ask me, "why do you buy it when you can get it free?" if you go with the full cloud membership, even without one of the sign up specials they offer, its cheaper than buying it everytime it comes out.
