With the end of daylight saving time here or approaching in the northern hemisphere, remember to adjust the time in your camera(s). Correctly labeled files make finding them later much easier.

Obviously with folks all over the globe on here (and even just within the US) there are different rules and I've heard a variety of reasons for changing it back and forth...for many reasons, I'd prefer to have the sun set as late as possible year 'round, so I guess I'm not much of a fan of "standard" time.

I work from home these days, but I always hated going home in the dark - always felt like I worked overtime!  I'm not sure I would be able to handle the far northern or far southern extremes with long nights / summers depending on the seasons...I just enjoy seeing and hopefully shooting in some daylight after work.  We actually get a few minutes more of daylight here than we did up in Virginia although it really isn't enough that you notice it.  I did notice it years ago when I did a fair amount of business travel to Florida.  Just for fun I did a quick comparison of sunrise / sunset times for today and comparing where we lived in Virginia to my brother-in-law's place in Florida and their daylight lasts almost 30 minutes longer...

In any case I'd prefer to have one time and not bounce back and forth, but it is really a minor thing to deal with other than changing the clocks!  Thanks for the reminder Peter!

No daylight savings where I am. Thankfully because I don't want my curtains to fade even more due to the extra sunlight. Or confuse the cows.

Lol... Sorry that's a regional joke (but was honestly said publicly by someone long ago).

But I'm in Queensland which is one of our northern states. Additionally I am located pretty much under the tropic of Capricorn and daylight savings really isn't necessary here.

Bump!

For those of us in the states... at least those states that observe DST, don't forget to reset your camera(s) back to the correct time. The change was last Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Yea, I was thinking about this - I am photographing a wedding this coming weekend just before the change so I am good until after the wedding but am going to check everything just to be sure...

That's the second time you "bump this"… What does it mean, Peter?

Just a post to bring it up to active status again, instead of starting a new thread every year.
