Oh, I love this castle! Very inspiring images, Jim. I have a few lousy pictures of me and my husband standing in front of it. I so long to go back and take some serious photos of the place.

That second shot is amazing! The perspective is breathtaking. Love it.

I'm revealing some ignorance here, I'm sure--is that second shot an HDR composition?

Nice shot Jim. I was there in July this year and have nearly a similr shot. Do you have any objections in me posting my version?

This is not HDR, just contrast and colour.

Ha ha , does that mean the first one is not good ?   lol

Maybe it means the first one is good, but the second one is great? They're both lovely, and both make me want to be there, but the second is more unusual in its perspective...a little more eye-catching--for me, anyway. The cloudy sky, the texture of the stone, the leading lines of the bridge, the tones--it's just a stronger image, IMHO.

They are both great pictures Jim, The composition and detail in the second image is superb though, so much detail in the stonework and the perspective just puts the cherry on the top for me! Great stuff

Love your version to NAX1946 with the focus point being the small boat with castle and surroundings as the backdrop, lovely.

Probably the most romantic of all of Scotland's castles.

I was there 30 years ago, about a year after they filmed The Highlander there.

Beautiful.
