My area senior proms are in November and I am trying to drum up some business for myself. As I only started my own business in December I don't have a portfolio of existing work to use to sell my services. So I enlisted a local young model to help me out and recreated the type of shots I would do for a Prom shoot. I also tried to give myself the same timeframe to work with to get an idea of what I can achieve in a certain time.

We are getting some glorious sunsets here through winter so I am wanting to play with that. The marina is a common location for these shoots, plus it is close to the rallying area for the cars (the entrance is a huge thing here with kids wanting the flashiest of cars).

CC more than welcome here. They were all shot with my D810, Tamron 70-200mm f2.8 VC and Jinbei DM3 strobe with a 55 degree reflector.

I really don't see much to criticize here. I think all of the shots are beautiful... but then I suppose the credit should go to your lovely model.

I agree with Ron, and great model.  Photo #2 would be killer if she had a bit more smile.

Thanks.... She is a great young girl, only 15, and has only been doing this modelling for about 6 months. But she has great poise and confidence. I met her shooting a workshop for her agency and had her in mind d for this shoot.

After only one day of putting these shots out there on Facebook, I've got one booking. Just two more to go for this season.

I'm thinking I might have to do the same for weddings as I am having a real hard time getting any bookings for them.

And how many requests to take your model to the Prom!

These images should drum up business for both of you.
