This is bit of a editorial portrait session I did with a young local model. Her agency asked me to conduct a fun shoot. They wanted to see her smile. They wanted something befitting her young age, not something serious and pouty. She had the idea of a nerdy/preppy concept which I liked.

Our first location was the local heritage village where there is an old school building I thought might provide great charecter and banking on some window lighting.

Then we moved outside, and a completely different area to some old stair we thought we could use. Was midday by this point so I pulled out my lighting gear to fight off the strong shadows.

Then we went back inside again as she asked me to get some head shots for her profile. I got a couple normal ones, then played with a couple others more for my own experience as i have never done these myself.

And CC more than welcome... I have found some harsh criticism over the years very beneficial for seeing new things.

i like numbers 1 and 4 the most, they seem the most natural and she does have a very nice smile.

Thanks.... I had an extremely hard time catching a natural looking smile. This is something she really needs to work on and partly why we were there.
