Okay fellow photographers. I was listening to a tech podcast the other day and the subject came up on what music people listen too while writing computer code. Carl Franklin was a guest on the show and he came up with some music he wrote. Each piece was 25 minutes long (he said there is a reason for that length but I can't remember the reason he gave). He claims that music needs to be non distracting and have roughly 50-85 beats per minute. He went on about his music and why its perfect for coders out there (I won't go into all the boring stuff).

I thought wow, I wonder if his music will work for us poor saps that have to process a few thousand images per week. So, I found his website, paid for the music and WOW, it works. Its perfect to have as background music for those that spend a little too much time processing images. His website has samples (a few minutes of music).

Interesting...I might look into it...I usually have a TV or radio on while editing although not always possible without headphones, etc. which I normally don't bother with.  Maybe I'll run some personal comparisons and see what works best :)

I gave it a listen.  That is some boring stuff, but not quite too boring.  I do like the idea that it does not grab your attention but fills the silence if you need to.

lol, I agree. It is "boring" for lack of a better word. However, it is not distracting, which, is its purpose. I only used it once, last Sunday, to edit Friday and Saturday's wedding and it worked pretty well for me. Of course, the jury is still out. I'll have to use it at least a month before coming to a final conclusion.
