Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 12 April 2015, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style--just give us your best shot.

If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

Also, come join us for the editing exercise--because of a holiday, we're still working on an informal editing exercise this week, but next week we'll start the regular exercise again.

Stopped off in Memphis and went down to Beale St. This band was playing at Jerry Lee Lewis's bar. The piano player was awesome. I should of moved from where I was for a better composed shot without the crowd, but still really like these pics.

We spent an afternoon at the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) in Scotsdale, AZ.  If you have any appreciation for or love of music this museum is a must.  Every musical instrument imaginable from all corners of the world are here.  Plus the museum has a great entryway that consists of many rows of paddle cactus, and other desert fauna, which all are in bloom.

While I was taking a photo of the attached cactus flower, two small bees flew in the center and started rolling around in the pollen.

From a citytrip to Rotterdam this week.

@morticiaskeeper : my preferred one is the second one.
Must be interesting to have so many opportunities to take captures of jets and other military planes.

@jerry. We were just lucky! I took my son camping to the airbase, hoping we might see something, we saw 21 launches! Other days, there may be zilch.

All taken through a chain link fence.

My city has their annual festival over the Easter weekend. It's my one guaranteed opportunity to get fireworks. I am now comfortable with my technique (although new camera was slightly different). So now I am trying to take my fireworks and include some element to add context to the shot. I spied this location last year and thought I would see what results I got...

Jet Skiing is a popular water sport in Bahrain, where I work.

I thank the gentleman for these shots.

Nikkor 200mm F4 Ai version, wide-open on the Df, ISO100.

16503796444_7d71fc7010_b.jpgNikkor 200/4 ai, Wide-open by fiftyonepointsix, on Flickr

I had this lens over 30 years ago, traded it off. bought this near-mint replacement for $75. I'm happy! This is a compact lens, focus to 7ft. The Micro-Nikkor 200/4 is sharper, but not 20x as sharp!

Nice to see you again, Scott--and what a cool couple of sets! Where were you for all the movie memorabilia?

Back to baseball this past weekend for me.  I really enjoy shooting baseball - both the challenge of it andI still have most of the photos to go through from the weekend, but did get a few of Saturday's photos done...While I used my D4 with the 200-400 and both D600s with 70-200 and 24-70, all of these were with the D4 and 200-400 combo at f4 with ISO 400...

The first three are of the catcher.  My timing was just right on the first shot as he was receiving the ball...

WestLibSat-5282.jpg

Later in the game I caught this shot of his home run...

WestLibSat-5548.jpg

1/2500

He was still smiling about the home run when he came back out to play defense the next inning...

WestLibSat-5605.jpg

I usually want more face, but loved the action in this shot of a tag out at third base...

WestLibSat-5610.jpg

Lastly a couple of shots of the pitchers in the first game...

And the second game...

Thanks Nicole.

I took a road trip to Seattle to visit the EMP museum (experience music project) where they had a Star Wars exhibit and a Horror/Sci-Fi exhibit. All the items were actually worn or were props from the original movies. Really cool to see.

Great, and interesting burlesque photos.  Love them in b/w.  The flickr images are also awesome.

Many thanks
