I am using a Nikon D7100 and am wondering what to use for a lens for video. I use a Nikon 17mm to 135mm and find it hard to zoom.

Zooming for video is very amatuerish. Maybe, and I mean maybe for an occasional shot. Please see any professional work. Rarely is there a zoom shot.
To answer your question, the answer is the lens that is appropriate for the work. I have used 12-24mm f/4 Tokina lenses (brilliant for video) to 600mm f/4 for wildlife and sports. What kind of wotk are you trying to do?
