Hello everyone,
I've been using Canon Power-shots (a-40 AND a-720) for the last 10 or so years. I recently purchased a Nikon Coolpix S9700 because it was the only compact camera that provided a "grip" for me to hold onto when shooting. I have limited sensation in my fingers and need to have a "purchase" on the camera body that (up to now) Canon Sure-Shot's provided so well.
I'm very pleased with the "feel" of my new Nikon. Although the Canonn provided more features than the Coolpix, the features that are present meet my needs.
I hope I have many years of good experience with the Nikon Coolpix.
Just as an aside, my first "serious" camera was a Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic that I acquired for a couple of photography courses (ca. 1974) I took at college. I can't handle the weight of a DSLR (unfortunately) because of limitations with my hand and so need to use "mass-market" compact cameras.
I will post (in a second posting) a question about the wi-fi on the Coolpix. I couldn't find the answer in the online manual or on the "quick start" guide that came with the camera.
Regards,
Michele (kickstand447)
