Does anyone have a reveiw for the Nikon COOLPIX A camera. I am looking at it because I want a compact camera for special events for special occasions when I do not want to carry a full size DLSR.

Cameralabs have a review here.

Mark Goldstein has tested it here.

Dxomark here.

For me, the deciding factors against are the lack of a built-in viewfinder and the f/l.

while not a review, here is a link to some photos I have taken with the Coolpix A in the past few weeks:

Search: "coolpix a" | Flickr

As an aside, my go-to cameras are a Nikon D800 and Pentax K3. I purchased the the Coolpix A as a "carry everywhere" camera that I can keep in my pants pocket all the time. I find the quality to be extremely good but given the limitations one must learn to adjust ones expectations and technique. For $399 it is a steal and I am very happy with it.

YMMV

I picked one up recently for $399 + $99 for the hotshoe viewfinder.

It's a great little camera as long as you are able to work with the 28mm focal length.

I've got no regrets.
