First let me say I have been , and continue to be very blessed in my life. Both my Parents spent the time to raise a family I am proud to be a part of. They are both still living and in relative good health. I have a wife that has been by my side for the last almost 38 years . we have raised two children that have given us great joy ,as well as 6 Grand children.

Things have  not always been easy, but always seemed to work out for us.

We have weeks like this one. It started of with my wife's older brother having a heart attack. "He is doing better". Everything at work seemed to go the hard way.  Two of the Grand kids have strep throat,Then I get a phone call at noon that informed me that my brothers house had just burned to the ground. Thankfully no one was home at the time. But they lost everything in the house.

As I said we are very blessed, but so ready for the week to be over, and the work of getting everyone healthy and lives rebuilt into full swing.

Let me start by saying  I have extremely blessed in my life. I have two loving parents that are still health and able to get around. They raised a family that i am proud to be a part of. I have a wife that has been by my side for 38 years next month. We have raised two children that have brought a lot of joy as well as six grand children to our lives . Things have not always been easy but have usually worked out for us.

Then we have weeks like this one. It started out with My wife's older brother having a heart attack. He is stable now. Then two of our grand kids have come down with strep throat. Everything at work went the hard way. Then today My mom called to let me know that my brother and sister in-law's house had just burned to the ground. No one was at home .

As I said we are extremely blessed, but so ready for this week to be over

Hey there, Patrick. Sorry to hear you and your family have been having a rough time. I hope it will all pass soon. And thank goodness the brother is stable--that's scary! I love that you started out your description of this tough time by noting how blessed you are. What a great attitude--that's hard to maintain that during times of trial (at least it is for me). Anyway, sending prayers and positive thoughts your way. :)

 Thanks.

I didn't want it to sound like a poor pitiful me .  It was definitely a good week to not be related to me ;) . I have more blessings than I can count and prefer to dwell on them.

I hope things turn around this week and it is one of your best ever!  I agree that it is best to focus on the positives and the blessings we all have rather than the negatives, but sometimes that just isn't an easy thing to do...I understand how it goes!  Best wishes to your family!
