Anyone going on Scott Kelby's 2013 Photo Walk? Here's a link... Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk – The World's Largest Photo Walk Event

It's on October 5, and there may be a group or groups walking in your neck of the woods.

I wish I would have known about this sooner. The walk in my area is Saturday Oct. 5th. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year, but I will be prepared for it next year.

There's one here and there's also a zombie walk that day. Plus the other 30 things I have that day. I'm pretty sure Oct 5th is the busiest day in the world.

I'm going again. I and a few friends meet up (sometime the only time for the year). We always try to go to different locations. This year I'll be in Princeton NJ USA.

Hmmmmm.   Not one in my area.   I may check into hosting one for next year though.

I've checked into it--we have a few in my area, but I'm booked for the day. I'll plan for next year, I think.

I have to ask, what does one do on a Scott Kelby Photowalk? I've been on a photowalk with a small, local camera club, and it seemed everyone just went their separate ways and shot what they wanted. Not lot of interaction or instruction. Was there supposed to be? Would a Kelby walk be different do you think? I'm a fan of his, so I'd like to think there would be something extra good about it--I know there are giveaways and such. Anything else?

These photowalks aren't much different then what you described. In general they do a pretty good job of making sure that the leaders are qualified. The tone of the walk is really set by the leader and how much people interact.

If I wasn't for this site, I would have not known about this walk. Thank you for starting this thread. I joined a walk in Annapolis Maryland yesterday and I had a great time! I didn't even read anything about this world wide photo walk, I just thought it was, well just a photo walk. I now know that it is a contest if you want. I didn't get any WOW pictures but I am glad to be part of this historical event

I hosted one but unfortunately it rained again.  2nd year in a row.  we had a good turn out and got to shoot for about 45 minutes before the rain took over.  it was still a lot of fun.

Glad you were able to attend. Annapolis is a fun city (I used to live nearby). I met up with folks that I've "known" from another photography site but hadn't met in person. So besides shooting somewhere new, it was fun to talk with them.

Did anyone on the forum actually take part in the Scot Kelby photo walk, would be interested to hear feedback?

I was about 5 minutes away from one of them, but didn't have my camera with me and was busy doing something else.  :(
