Adam, I know you seem reluctant to have categories for the photos sharing, but just one section for all photos really puts me off. I generally gravitate towards viewing sports photos, and sorting through the chaff of all the other genres really puts me off going there and posting there. You'll see most every other forum site have sections for photos, it's great I hardly ever go to the other sections as they don't interest me, you've seen one sunset with soft swirly water in the foreground with a few rocks you've seen them all, but howestly I just can't be bothered reading all the labels pinned to each photo post to see if I want to view it or not, and then clicking through all the pages to find ones I want to see.

Please put categories in the photo posting section.

Russ (Arpe)

Russ check out this link, the gallery has a dedicated sports gallery to post and view such pictures.

Sports - Gallery - NikonForums.com i think this may be possibly what you mean or do you mean a standalone indexd page, ie: Sports - then different sporting categories from this main index

I like the idea of having categories, and at this early stage it's really easy to make changes to the site, fortuantely.  I plan on cloning the gallery categories in the PYP forum; do you have any other suggestions before I proceed?

As a suggestion, would it be possible for those posting photos to give some detailed info re: shot " shutter, aperture, iso, lens and camera used, as a learning tool.

Nothing specific, just have a look around a other fora and see the categories they have and pick the ones you want - as long as there is a sport/action one!

Unfortunately there isn't an add-on for this yet, but I will look into a client-side solution as I think having metadata is important.

The gallery already shows exif if you decide to upload there.

This would only happen in the gallery if a single file is >2-3Mb

The subcategories are now live :)
