I think Vegas is calling! Jokes... Anyways when we were in California last month we had our names put in a draw to win a trip to Vegas. We received a phone call and we won but, they thought we lived in California and when they found out we lived in Canada they said they couldn't pay for our flights but would pay for our rooms at a Hotel there if we found our way down. So I thought that was the end of the story. We'll anyways it turns out I found out today we have to go to Vegas next month for business reasons and now I want to take advantage of the free Hotel win and plan to use those after the business trip and stay there back to back for over a week. So I have another photogrpahy question about Vegas area and Nevada. Wheres the best place and ops to take wildlife photos. I plan on taking landscape as well but wildlife seems to be my main passion for photography right now.

You can find lots of "wild life" in Vegas! Pretty much in any bar or casino!
Sorry - couldn't resist! Congrats on the win! I am sure you can get some interesting landscapes outside of town, but not sure of the best choices for the wildliefe you are talking about...but, I am looking forward to seeing your photos!

Lots of wild horses in Nevada--here's a map of some of the herd management areas (looks like there are a couple near Las Vegas).

Thanks a lot nbanjogal and Tbonz. I appreciate any info I can get. On one of my trips to Vegas last year I took a drive to Rhyolite, Nevada just to check out the ghost town and get some landscape shots and ended up getting a shot of some lizard in the desert. It was tiny and not much but I posted it on my Facebook some people liked it.
Anyways I realize that there isn't as many wildlife photographers as people getting into landscape and portrait but I thought I would shoot out the question and hopefully get some replies because Nevada wildlife is not familiar with me and I would like to know more about it and the wildlife. I will post some pics if I get any and hopefully I do.

The obvious answer is lake Mead. They have bighorn there, and lots of birds(even Bald Eagles). You can also get some landscape and dam shots, too.
