Nice!!! Looks like you did some great work while you were out there! I really like them all, but the composition in number 1 especially speaks to me, and I love the light and sky in 3. What are the ruins? Number 5 is very intriguing--the perspective is great.

Oh, and welcome back--hope you had a wonderful, refreshing holiday!

Thanks Nicole, the holiday was just what I needed, refreshed and rested.

The ruins are St Benet's Abbey, the site was huge but only a few walls remain of the original structure. The tower is a later building added on to the ruins, it's an old windmill. A great site to explore and I got to use my new tripod which was great too.

Nice! Love that castle shot.

So, how did you like the new tripod and head combo? I would like to hear your assessment of it.

Thanks Thumper. The tripod and head worked great, its a bit weighty but that's what I was after, I didn't want something that was going to vibrate as soon as the wind picked up. The head worked great too, a few minutes to get used to but after an initial play I was up and running. I'm so glad I went for this combination.

Oh and I was lucky that my old Tripod bag was able to fit the new one with the head attached, saved me a few £££'s having to get a new one.

Nice photos Rob!  I like all the sets...I think the shot looking up through the trees is the favorite of all of them...Kind of the way I feel when I'm shooting basketball :)!
