It depends on what format the media buyer intends to use it with, but we arnt talking pennies here, an average picture gets me anything from £30 - £45 and some work can bring in £150..
But its getting the shots that networks want is the hard work, most of my past work was in conflict zones but i had to stop as i was putting myself in extreme danger, Problem is when your behind the lens you forget what goes on around you and just get the pictures, then sometimes you take your eye of the viewfinder and theres hundreds of people some armed wondering what the hell im doing.. Yikesss time to go home.. lol
Ge neral life everyday stories can sometimes bring great rewards and with todays technology we are all possible street journalists what with mobiles etc being what they are, look at news channels these days, theres so many more eye witness mobile phone footage than normal stuff.
You ideally need to be out working non stop covering story after story, its pretty much a full time job but part time pay.. but it has its rewards from time to time//
