So I am in Long Beach California for a few days and I am wondering if there is any interesting places, light houses, and or anything to be seen and photographed around here. I flew here yesterday but rented a car so I could drive up the coast or anywhere in the State.

Not sure what you're looking for - maybe head down to the beach for some street shooting or some surfer pix?  Its too big a state to try and get all over it.  San Diego and Palm Springs / Palm Desert are probably around 2 hours or so (assuming no traffic) if you wanted to check out a different area.  I've never been to San Diego but there are some beautiful desert vistas around Palm Desert.  Lots of other beaches in your area as well that you could check out.  Not sure what you might be looking to shoot...I'd suggest Yosemite for wildlife and landscapes, but you're probably at least 5 hours from there.

I'm guessing at the times, so please don't head out assuming my times are correct!  You could probably get some street shooting in pretty much anywhere in the area...Hope that helps!

Definitely the beach scene, and the sunsets.  I see so many beautiful shots from Rich Cruse, So Cal, on sunsets.
