DX crop of 24mp is 10.6mp (I think), so 24 v 10.6....

I  can always stick the 1.4x TC on when necessary of course

new rumor is that it will have a 6.5 fps shooting speed. No word on if the grip (and if will use an exsisting grip) will up the FPS at all.

Additionally the D610 is nearing the chopping block.

still no word if the D750 will replace the D610, have the same body, or what it will even look like.

estimate for offical announcement is September 11 with a release in October.

That would be disappointing.

Apparently the specs have been leaked and I for one am happy with what I see.
Nikon D750 specifications leaked online - Nikon Rumors

Looking to move to full frame from my d5200 and would miss the flippy screen so fingers crossed the rumours are correct.

It looks like a nice camera, but I don't see that as much different than what I would expect in a D620...the rumored 6.5 FPS seems a bit slow if it is supposed to be a sports camera - not that it can't be done, but I was hoping to see 8 fps...oh well, hopefully we will have the official info to review soon and I don't plan on buying anything for awhile anyway, so there's plenty of time to find out if these are accurate or not before jumping on or off the new model...

I agree, 8fps would have been a much nicer spec for a sports camera. But otherwise it seems like a nice camera. A new grip signifies a new body style...hopefully it's a full pro build body

What a let-down. No separate AF-on btn. 6.5fps. Thought I may have been going full frame, doesn't look like it now.

From what I've read... DPReview seems to have the most comprehensive early report, it's not the pro body we were all hoping for. The body ergonomics are nearly identical to the D600/D7100 series. In fact, it looks very much like a full frame D7100. Alas, the AF-ON button is not included but, of course, the AF/AE lock button can be assigned to AF-ON duty... which is how I have my D7000 set up. The pentaprism housing features the low end viewing system.... no round viewfinder opening, which is an indicator that Nikon regards this as a consumer camera rather than a pro or prosumer camera. The flippy monitor is not the fully articulated version we wanted either but I suppose is better than nothing.

All that said, DPReview seems to really like the camera overall and suggest that's it's a good buy based on what's inside. The sensor, Expeed 4a and the upgraded focusing system that's even more sensitive than the one in the D810. They even go so far as to suggest that this camera may be an upgrade  for some D810 users.

It's still too expensive for me although, ... well, I donno. What I can't figure out though, is why Nikon keeps raising the price of their dedicated battery grips with each new body. The one for this camera will sell for just shy of $500US and doesn't add anything to the frame rate.

The only thing I don't like about the camera so far is a max of 1/4000 shutter speed.

A sports camera with 1/4000 max.  Nikon Marketer's are clueless once again. Nikon needs to get their head in the game.

I thought the flash sync was a bit low too. I think the camera will be successful though. Just not with the audience Nikon aimed it at. The sports guys are probably going to stick with their D4s's.

Yea...I am far from ruling out the D750, but I don't know that it has what I want...There are definitely some improvements over the D610, but I am not sure there are enough improvements over my D600 to get me to jump on a new body...Based on some of the rumors, I was thinking that the D750 might make a capable #2 camera until I could afford to add another (3rd body) D4 or D4s, but right now I'm leaning towards just holding on to one of my D600 bodies until I can get the right camera...

I don't see how any photographer who's already shooting a recent Nikon full frame camera would be moved to jump to this body. If I had a D600 that wasn't throwing oil like a week old Harley, I'd probably stick with it. Ditto for any of the other FF bodies. As a DX shooter however, I find the D750 to be intriguing and it would certainly be a huge step up for me. But then, so would the D610.

I want to make the move to full frame. I'm pretty much convinced that FF is the future. Note that there are no (at least from what I've heard/read) DX goodies in the Nikon Photokina booth this year. No D300 replacement. No new DX lenses. I don't think that's an accident.

I just have a hard time letting go of the amount of scratch it would take to scarf one of these boys. From the specs I've seen, I don't think it's a bad camera at all. And, if Nikon had dropped the 600 (along with all it's negative publicity) completely and then offered this as a replacement at the same price, I think they'd have a land rush on their hands. As it is, I think a lot of people are scratching their heads over this one.

It will be interesting to monitor reports from the early adopters.

II've been thinking of going full frame but to be honest, I'm not convinced that the D750 is going to be my next purchase. Think I'll continue to save a go the whole way and get a D810 instead
