Sometime before midnight (whatever time zone you are in) this Sunday, 13 July, post the best photo you have taken this week. Any subject, any style--just give us your best shot.

PS: If you can, list your EXIF info and any special lighting setups you may have used.

Both are photos of a Blue globe thistle I have in my garden, I think it is a Bannaticus but I am not quite certain.

Sorry I haven't had an entry in a week or two, but I'll have something this week for sure.  I just completed a shoot inspired by KieÅ›lowski's Three Colors trilogy.

I really can't wait to see what you've done. Those are some of my favorite movies--I used to have the VHS versions of them (yep, I'm old enough to have had VHS)…never got the DVDs though. Still have the soundtrack to Blue...and now I think I have to go listen to it. :)

And here's an early entry from me this week. For a Project 52 Pros assignment: "Summer."

I think I have photographers block. I've had my camera with me for the last 2 weeks and cant seem to find inspiration. I've taken a few shots but nothing worth sharing. I'm planning a visit to a local nature reserve over the weekend so hopefully I'll get inspired and come away with some decent shots.

Thats a beautiful shot afterimage, what did you use for the background?

Believe it or not... that's just my neighbor's lawn. LOL Wild tiger lilies grow between our property and I was just snapping shots testing out the new lens and got that.

A great way to break photo-block is to go someplace new with a challenging lens (think primes, or the "wrong" lens for the surrounding)...  and commit to coming back with at least 1 "wow" photo. Works every time for me and I always seem to get a photo I'm really proud of from those outings. Maybe it's because you have to work so hard with capturing a scene with the absolute worst lens for the situation LOL

Yep...I just go to a sporting event - could be kids playing a pick up game of whatever...and then I just try and capture some action to get me going again...

I thought the idea was to go someplace new or try something new :P

In that case, I usually grab a camera and head to the yard to find something to shoot in a new way...doesn't always get me a good image, but usually gets my mind thinking about photography and gets rid of the block...but, the other works pretty well too!

:)

I like a Holga 60 mm lens or trying to use some of my uncoated 60's classics in adverse lighting or something like that. I have too many toys... The tele-tessar 200/4 is definitely challenging but when you nail it...

Personally I like a few lenses that many consider "junk" - it's like flying a biplane vs. a modern jet. No "nanny settings", no VC, crazy distortions, color casts and wild flares... funny how people now Instagram those quirks back into the photo when you can just buy a lens that basically does it natively for a few bucks.
