What's a good photographer's website host? I'm looking for a ready-to-go template package. I found what I thought was a pretty neat deal on photoshelter.com but they are apparently unable to provide a means of allowing a customer to actually purchase a print or download despite their claims of being able to do so. The comments in the photoshelter forums about it are enough to keep me from making it a third day into my fourteen-day free trial.

So, any suggestions?

Smugmug and Zenfolio are similar to Photoshelter. Both seem pretty good (I've tried both), and customers are supposed to be able to buy prints and download files from both of those companies. You may have to pay a higher price to have that capability...I'm not sure.

I use Shootproof for client proofing and ordering, but I have a Wordpress site for my website.

I use SmugMug and have had good luck...if you go with their pay for packages, you can set the price (as well as lots of other settings) for any prints folks choose to purchase and anything above what they charge (you will have that info) becomes profit for you.  It works pretty well...I will add that when you as the owner are logged in, any prints you purchase are at the non-marked up price so you don't have to pay yourself!   :)

I will have to look at Shootproof - I am thinking of doing some other photography where something like proofing and ordering may be a useful tool...
