Show us your gear, from the Nikon range finders to the autofocus SLR's, and the compacts in between ;)

Between all of us there should be just about any Nikon ever made!

Here's my first Nikon - the FE, with some lenses.

That's a nice F80 -- and I'm totally intrigued by the 24mm AF Nikkor!

My very first film SLR, a Nikon N4004s.   It was either 1989 or 1990, and I had enrolled in photography in college.   We developed our own film and processed our own prints.  Started out in B&W, then went to color.   I did it for a couple of years, then life took me elsewhere.

I picked up a Nikon F5 (in excellent condition) not too long ago for a song.  (Although, I don't know how much it will actually get used).

Nice Nice! Film is fun, you can set up a b&w developing + scanning thing, or send out color to a decent lab. One thing I did was to give the dslr to my daughter for 6 months and shoot only film. At first I worried but soon adjusted and it was lots of fun, and a renewal.

I have an old N70 but the back of the camera has transformed into a sticky surface over the years so that I don't like to handle it.

Sounds nasty. Could you cover over it with some tape or a thin piece of leather glued over the back?

The sticky back is not so nice... one of the F100's has that, I've researched online, the first thing to try is talcum powder, it at least does little harm and it does take away the tackiness... just don't over do it and get it inside the camera!

Thanks Nesster. I might try that.

One of my 801 bodies developed sticky rubber too. I used cornstarch to get rid of the stickiness.

Here's one I just picked up. Wanted to try the lens out on my D3200 (not bad but not as good as my 18-55mm VR it was going to potentially replace) but have decided I will clean out the battery compartment and take it for a whirl.

Two old friends!

gallery_1251_413_39056.jpg

This F4E was the first pro-grade nikon I bought new in 1994. The 180/2.8 is older, made in something like 1978-'79 timeframe. I bought it used at the same time as the body. I still use them. The L-plate is a Novoflex that needs to be removed to change batteries, like all L-plates on the F4E.

The photo is from the weekly minichallenge w/e 20 july 2014

I suppose that we all recognize the FE2, but what lens is it? It is easily recognizable from this photo.
