I purchased my D3200 6 months ago as other fellow users said how good it was, and being an avid D3100 i was doubtful that the upgrade would increase that much except for the picture sizes, but boy was i pleased that i did..

As a photojournalist i mainly shoot with Sports mode on Burst as many of my stories are fast paced action like arrests etc so i was amazed at the pictures quality and the average 4 shots per second was more than enough to capture just what i required.

However that being said when i was taking it easy at home or out walking with the dogs i found the camera stands up to the best out there when capturing landscapes etc..

If you have this model, whats your thoughts on it and have you took it off Auto mode yet?

I to have the D3200. I recently used it to capture a spectacular lightning shot on Indian river beach near Tampa, Florida. I was really impressed with the quality of the image as were many of my friends. I shot in full manual mode with a 30 sec exposure.

I moved up from a D50 to D3200 so it was a big step for me, I love the d3200 so much better but there is a lot to learn and I try to shoot in different modes to get used to the Camera, I would also like to shoot Lightening and will keep looking for any chance I get.

I love my D3200. Just bought it about a month ago now and carry it with me everywhere. The last time I had used a camera other than a point and shoot (or one on a mobile) was about 15 years ago (a Canon T70 SLR). Getting this has gotten me back into something I love doing almost as much as my music. Great camera even with just using the kit lenses at the moment (18-55mm and 55-200mm).

i finally gradutaed  from my mz 50 to a 3200 last year. i am inspired  by this camera . there is nothing better than  looking through your shots at the end of a day on a 40 inch screen and thinking "yeh i nailed that shot  ".  my d3200 gives me that   experience every day ,  i take it everywhere with me.  :)

The new line of Nikon cameras are really superior to most everything else on the market. Check out the rating for the D3200 vs Canon's new 70D and even the 5D MKIII:

The Middle weight D3200 score the same or better than the 5DMkIII in every category save the ISO vs Noise... which is to be expected give the FF vs DX sensor size. Against the 70D it just crushes it in performance and rubs salt in the wound with price.

I purchased my D3200 in June of this year. It is my first dlsr and I am still getting used to it. I mostly shoot trains which is somewhat of a challenge at the speeds they travel. Will keep working with it but so far I love the results I have been getting.

This camera is perfect with a 35mm or 50mm prime!

Also loving this camera, what I can achieve just grows daily as I get to know it, kit lens is super for the money and works well with my sigma 300mm, , really carnt wait to get a 35mm prime attached and see what its like then, it was the most feature packed camera I could afford at the time and im glad I picked it

I have been shooting with my 3200 since last June and have captured many amazing images. I know it is not a full frame or professional camera but I think it does a very good job for an entry level DSLR.

Coming off K30 to choosing a new Nikon  dslr, this is really helpful. Am already quite familiar with the wife's D5100 & was thinking a used D7000 because of it's dynamic range but I'd probably rethink it. I mainly shoot family gatherings in the evening & our kids. Any thought of D3200 users who shoots the same?

I have a d3100. What are the benefits of upgrading to a d3200?
I see the d3200 has a mic input. Does it have any audio settings? Agc or limiter?
