I would like to ask those who have the Nikon Df how they are doing with their manual focus lenses.

 

I have learned two things:

 

(i) I get a more precise response from the focus indicator lamp if I leave the focus lever set to 'auto';  and

 

 (ii) at f1.4 or f1.2 (on my 50mm f1.2) I need  to go to 'live view' to get accurate focus.

 

Does this correspond with your experience?

 

Also, has anyone tried to install a focusing screen from 'focusingscreens.com' yet? How has this worked for you?

Don't have my Df yet, but on my D800e fast lenses are tricky beasts to manually focus. FX sensors tend to have shallower DoF. It's even worse in medium format digital.

I have not noticed a difference with the green focus indicator between auto and manual.  I've used the 55/1.2 on the Df without problems. I've mostly shot manual focus lenses on the F2AS using an E Screen, also on an N8008s using an E Screen.
